Synopsis:
“Somewhere Inside” is a contemporary dance solo where the performer finds herself trapped in an imaginary catalog of which she is the protagonist. This catalog compiles different scenes, facets of her personality and feelings she experienced from her during the year 2022. Parts of her character more or less admitted to her are revealed, and others totally subconscious but nevertheless existing in the mind her. As she progresses through the piece, she finds herself unknowingly completely exposed as all of her memories and feelings come alive again. She transforms rapidly and uncontrollably, as if someone is turning the pages of this other-dimensional catalog for her. After an intense flashback, she finally manages to return to herself in the present moment, on the stage where the audience is watching her, vulnerable and calm after experiencing this catharsis.
Biography:
After several years of dancing in small associations in her native French Alps, Camille Hinsinger entered the Chambéry Regional Conservatory and followed an intensive program of sports studies during her high school years. There, she practiced contemporary dance, jazz, ballet, and hip-hop. Then she began professional training as a dancer-performer at CF Adage in Bordeaux, which two years later led her to audition for the young company Free Bodies in Barcelona, where she danced for two years. During her formative years, Camille created with choreographers such as Anton Lachky, Lali Ayguadé, Jonathan Sanchez, Nadine Gerspacher, Nicolas Ricchini, Dominique Duszynski (Pina Bausch), Danae & Dionysios, Marion Castaillet and Los Informalls, among others… giving as a result pieces that have been represented on stage several times between Bordeaux, Barcelona, and Bologna (Italy).
In recent years, Camille has participated in workshops with different choreographers and teachers, both occasionally and at international festivals such as B12 in Berlin or Deltebre Dansa in Catalonia. She has also trained in urban dance by taking breakdancing classes and participating in the Urban Dance Camp international festival in Germany for two consecutive summers. Recently a freelance dancer, Camille has worked with Lisard Tranis & Clémentine Télesfort as a cover on the piece “Scotoma” and has decided to create her own works, including a solo “Somewhere Inside” and a duet with the dancer Privaël Burkhard.
